AINS is seeking a talented ServiceNow System Administrator to join our team supporting a US government agency with a global presence. ServiceNow Administrator and ITIL certifications are required to successfully perform in this exciting position. The ideal candidate has 4-6 years of IT experience and holds an Active secret clearance. The work location is at the client site in Crystal City (Arlington), VA.

The ServiceNow System Administrator responsibilities include performing system administration and development of the ServiceNow implementation, including the translation of customer requests into operable requirements and the coding, scripting, configuring and customization of ServiceNow. The System Admin will assist in implementing ITIL best practices using ServiceNow. This individual will also field and resolve ServiceNow issues and perform other duties as assigned. Key duties will be development and enhancement of existing modules such as Incident, Change, Problem, Asset, Knowledge, Project and Portfolio Management, Configuration Management, Employee Self-Service Portal, AD Automation, and Service Catalog. Additional duties include training, mentoring and coaching user community and internal customers as well as monitoring & evaluating the systems operability and performance metrics. 
Additional Responsibilities
  • Development and enhancement of existing modules such as Incident, Change, Problem, Asset, Knowledge, Project and Portfolio Management, Configuration Management, CMDB (Discovery Module), Employee Self-Service Portal, AD Automation, and Service Catalog. 
  • Field and resolve ServiceNow issues as Tier Two Support 
  • Review best practices and suggest better optimization 
  • Configuration Librarian, maintaining the data integrity of the CMDB 
  • Project Manage new releases of ServiceNow   
Required Skills:
  • ServiceNow System Administrator Certification 
  • Preferred: ServiceNow Developer Certification 
  • ITIL v3 Foundation Certification or later 
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science (or equivalent) 
 
A minimum of 4 years of experience with/in the following:
  • Implementing, configuring and customizing Web Technologies (XML, HTML, JAVA Script, AJAX, CSS, HTTP, etc.)
  • Web applications, networks, protocols and email (SMTP, WMI, POP3)
  • Experience with ServiceNow configuration(s) and formatting data for the CMDB
  • ServiceNow development experience and the ability to create forms, workflows and prototypes within ServiceNow
  • Understanding of and experience working with IT Service Management processes (Incident, Problem, Asset & Configuration, Change, Release, SLM, Service Catalog)
  • Knowledge of LDAP, VPN, SSL and other such technologies
  • Data Import and Management
  • Working knowledge of relational databases
  • Configuration of complex, multi-table reports
  • System Provisioning and orchestration automation technologies to include VM, AD, and PowerShell
  • Single Sign-on using SAML 2.0.
  • Web Services integrations using SOAP and XML
  • Discovery and Configuration Management to include data normalization
