Test Engineer

AINS has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated Test Engineer with a strong desire and aptitude to learn and expand their testing and analytical skills.  In this role you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a team of multi-disciplined IT professionals on a large federal application development engagement in Crystal City, VA (Arlington).  
 
Responsibilities:
  • Effectively leverage Software application processes, workflow, data rules, and business rules to develop and conduct functional and system integration testing.
  • Participate in the creation, implementation and continual improvement of standards, processes and procedures
  • Leverage Requirements MGT and Testing tools for example, “JIRA, HP Quality Center, Silk Central Test Manager, TOAD & Jama Contour”” to develop Test Plans and Test Scripts and to document test results and other SDLC artifacts
  • Review  and determine if test results (pass/fail) fulfill established requirements
  • Coordinate with developers and communicate inconsistencies and/or failed tests.
  • Record and validate defects.
  • Work collaboratively with other test engineers and project management to identify process improvements and streamline operations.
  • Support automation test engineers in the creation of automated regression test scripts.
Required Skills:
  • 1-3 years of software testing experience.
  • Understanding of Agile software development processes, tools, and methodologies
  • Ability to work closely with support and development teams
  • Excellent communication skills and experience with customer support
  • Excellent analytical and assessment skills
  • Troubleshooting/Problem solving skills with web applications
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Degrees and Certifications
  • Bachelor degree in an IT-related field highly preferred
Security Clearance:
  • Ability to gain a Secret Clearance required (US Citizen)
