AINS has an exciting opportunity for a motivated self-starter to provide operations and configuration management support on a large government IT project.  The successful candidate will join a team of over 50 personnel on a program supporting the operations and maintenance of a large number of software applications, databases and system tools. 
Position Description
  • Interface with client management to understand configuration management priorities.
  • Maintain Configuration Management Plan and ensure processes are implemented as defined in the plan.
  • Manage the overall change request (CR) process to ensure that system changes to the environments are managed properly and follow established procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members and client to execute change-reporting procedure, and maintain documentation for change authorization.
  • Oversee and execute at least two weekly Change Control Board (CCB) meetings.
  • Create CCB agendas and ensure that agenda CR contents have been properly vetted prior to CCB.
  • Distribute deployment requests to implementers for software deployments.
  • Track outstanding CRs and follow up with implementers for execution.
  • Maintain software build repository.  Check in software builds provided by developers. 
  • Maintain CM database.
  • Provide CM status reports as needed.
  • Provide CM process training to team members.
  • Define and support CM processes in an Agile environment
  • Identify improvement opportunities and submit suggestions for improvements regarding tools, training, processes and work instructions.
  • Assist the Program Manager, Technical Deputy Manager and team members in the daily operations of the program including:
    • Review all program deliverables and submit for approval, ensuring that deliverables are submitted on time and meet quality standards for completeness and accuracy.
    • Review high level status report contract deliverables with client management for input and coordinate updates before delivery. 
    • Support team related program needs including facilities related requests.
    • Track and manage program level action items. 
    • Maintain program deliverables and artifact repository.
 Desired Technical Experience
  • At least two (2) years of software configuration management experience including enterprise level CM.
  • Have experience in performing CM in an Agile software development environment
  • Utilizes CM Tools in the performance of their duties.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of clients from end users to managers, to understand and implement program requirements.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and document feedback to address client requirements.
  • Critical thinking and analysis skills, and excellent writing and proofreading skills.
  • Experience supporting an agile software development environment is a plus.
  • At least three (3) years of experience supporting software development teams.
  • Microsoft Office tools including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with a Configuration Management tool such as Jira or ServiceNow
  • Bachelor of Science degree 
  • US citizenship - Active DoD Secret Clearance is required
